Congratulations to Richard Adams and Gavin Maine who were selected to play for South of Scotland v's East of Scotland in May in a trial match for district championships later in the year. For both it was their first involvement in a 'proper' cricket match with a real ball, pads etc. Both acquitted themselves well as they adjusted to the new experience and even bravely offered to open the innings when the South batted. Sadly neither latest long as Easts experienced pace bowlers took command. Gavin was able to come away with 1 wicket to his name when South fielded and bowled 2 good spells. Fingers crossed for the boys that they will be able to get more opportunities to learn the art of cricket in further matches in the coming months.
